MONUMENT À FELIX GUATTARI – JEAN-JACQUES LEBEL
1994 • MIXED MEDIA INSTALLATION, SCULPTURE
With this installed memorial to the French psychiatrist and philosopher Félix Guattari, Jean-Jacques Lebel intends to explore the « Guattari Effect ». He developed, among other things, together with Gilles Deleuze, the concept of « rhizome », a knowledge model where history and culture are an open plan mutually influenced and which are not looking for linear causalities. The installation consists of Guattari’s old car , one built bed and a huge overhanging heart made of resin, which is provided with various items.
